On October 18th, 2005, the Grand Falls Women in Business Network honored Lily Durepos as its recipient for the Women Entrepreneur of the Year. Lily is founding shareholder of Alliance Assurance Inc.

Entitled “Women Entrepreneur of the Year”, 2005 marks this awards’ inception. This honor is awarded as part of the Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) Week that takes place across Canada. Winners of the Women Entrepreneur of the Year are assessed on a number of factors including financial growth & stability, innovation, ability to initiate entrepreneurship in the region and social and environmental awareness.

In attendance to hear a history of Lily’s career and social involvement were 30 Alliance members. With much pride, Lily Durepos then took the stage to accept the award and spoke on the success, the mentality and the strength of the Alliance team. During her acceptance speech, Lily underlined that she did not act alone and that many people are responsible for the success of Alliance and its associated companies. Lily spoke of Alliance’s four pillars of success, its goals and the mentality of its team members. She then described Alliance’s role at Keal Technology as their living lab and expanded on the synergy between the two companies by explaining how Alliance members assist Keal in training and marketing in Atlantic Canada and Quebec.

Profit Magazine has also recognized Lily as one of Canada’s leading Women Entrepreneur by ranking her 30th on their annual Profit W100 ranking
