On
September 9, 1999, thirty entrepreneurs were named as finalists for the
Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) for the Atlantic region at award receptions held
in Fredericton, St. John and Halifax.
The independent judging panel chose finalists for the award in seven different
categories:
1. Young/Emerging
2. Master
3. Consumer Sales & Services
4. Industrial
5. Manufacturing
6. Technology
7. Hospitality & Tourism
The nominees were chosen from a distinguished list of Atlantic business leaders.
Patrick Durepos, President of Alliance Assurance Inc. has been chosen as the NB finalist
in the category of Consumer Sales & Services. The other finalists in this same
category are:

The Atlantic Canada 1999 EOY recipients will be announced on October 7th,
1999 at a gala black-tie event at the Sheraton, Halifax. One of these recipients
will be named Atlantic Entrepreneur Of The Year and will be further recognized at
the National Awards Ceremony in Ottawa on October 26, 1999 at which time, one of
the five regional recipients will named Canadian Entrepreneur Of The Year.
About Patrick J. Durepos
Patrick J. Durepos is an accomplished business leader with a passionate
interest in three fields: insurance, technology and real estate.
Pat received a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1972 from the University of Moncton
and since then has put all of his considerable talents to work at Alliance Assurance Inc.,
Place Broadway and Keal Computer Services Inc. in order to make these businesses
lead in their fields.
